Hilton Jeffreys

Pastor Hilton started serving in August of 2007. He has been married to his lovely wife Amy since April of 1996 and God has blessed them with three precious children. He is a graduate of Piedmont Baptist College in Winston-Salem, NC with a B A in Biblical Studies and also has received his MDiv from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He has served as an Associate Pastor of FBC in Roanoke Rapids, NC and as Pastor of Dawson Baptist Church in Enfield, NC. He is a North Carolina native, born and raised by wonderful God loving parents. His father was a retired Southern Baptist pastor who went to be with The Lord in May of 2016. After 22 years of full time ministry, Pastor Hilton feels that the most important thing he can do in this life is to reach people with the gospel of Christ and equip the saints to do the same.

Favorite food: Homeplace fried chicken!

Favorite music groups: Casting Crowns and Bethel Baptist Praise Team

Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 40:31; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Matthew 28:19-20; Matthew 6:33; Romans 8:28

Hobbies: I love to spend time with my family and when I can break away I have been known to fish, hunt, and hit a little white ball in the woods, fairway, and the greens (mostly woods).


Associate Pastor

Adam Hughes

Adam started serving at Bethel in May 2017.  He and his wife Amber were married on July 7, 2007 and have two daughters: Hannah and Kinsley.  He is a graduate of Liberty University with a B.S. in Religion.   He has also received his Master of Arts in Church Minsitries, as well as his Master of Religious Education, both from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.  

He has previously served as the Youth Minister at First Baptist Church of Ridgeway, VA and also as the Student Pastor at First Baptist Church Bassett, VA.  He served as a Worship Leader with World Help, an international Missions Organization out of Lynchburg, VA as part of a group called Cross Culture.

Adam, Amber, Hannah & Kinsley are excited to be here and to be a part of what God is doing at Bethel.

Associate Pastor of Care

Ivey Adams

 

Pastor Ivey started on staff at Bethel on April 1, 2008 as the Associate Pastor of Care. His ministry is concentrated on ministering to the sick, shut-ins, and families who have experienced the passing of a loved one. Pastor Ivey has a pastor’s heart. Ivey and his wife, Dolly, were members of Bethel from 1970-1976 while Ivey served as Director of Child Care at the Virginia Baptist Children’s Home. They returned to Bethel in 1999 upon his retirement from the pastorate at Beulah Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. Since retirement Ivey has served as interim pastor in several churches. He graduated from Troy State University, Troy, Alabama and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Ivey has also studied in the child care field at University of North Carolina and Virginia Commonwealth University.

Joshua Jones

Josh started serving at Bethel in April 2016. He and his wife Kelly were married on August 6, 2005 and have two sons: Jackson and Kiptyn.  He is a graduate of Radford University with a B.S. in Exercise, Sport, and Health Education.  He is also employed by Salem City Schools as a paraprofessional.  Josh is also the Executive Director of the Salem Sabres Futbol Club and has coached the Women's Soccer team at Salem High School for the past 16 years.

He and his wife started out as volunteers helping the youth program at Bethel for 8 months before becoming interim youth director in December of 2016.  After almost a year serving as our interim, the church believed Josh has proven to be what we need as our permanent youth minister. We are glad to have him officially on staff as of November 5, 2017.  Josh, Kelly, Jackson & Kiptyn love serving God by working with the awesome youth at Bethel!
